Children's programs at the library in November

ALL PROGRAMS TAKE PLACE AT THE Statesboro Bulloch County Public Library, 124 S. Main St.

 

TODDLER TIME (ages 2-5)

10:30 a.m. Wednesdays

November  1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Toddler Time is designed for parents and young children, with a focus on stories, song, and movement. After story time and songs, we normally have an easy craft for the toddlers to work on (with parent help). No sign up is required—you can join this program at any time!

 

GAME NIGHT (Ages 10 & up)

5:30-7:00 pm Wednesday, November 1

Try out some of our new and interesting board games, or have fun on the Xbox 360. We’ll have staff on hand to help get the fun started. No sign up needed.

 

Eagle Time (K-12)

3:15-5:15 Wednesday, November 1 and

3:15-5:15 pm Mondays November 6, 13, 20, 27 Join GSU students for after-school activities and homework help!

 

HOMESCHOOL ART

2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2

A chance for homeschool students to participate in large-group learning activities at the library. Homeschooled students only. No signup required.

 

TUTORING (K-12 and GED students)

5:30-7:00 pm Thursdays, November 2, 9, 16, 30 and

5:30-7:00 pm Tuesday, November 7, 14, 28 Free tutoring and homework help for students of all ages by the non-profit group, Restoring the Breach.

 

52 WEEKS OF GIVING

4 pm Fridays

November 3, 17

This program has a different theme each week, but all of the themes are centered around giving back to our community and making a difference in people’s lives. No sign up is required—you can join this program at any time!

 

FAMILY PROGRAM: DINOSAUR DAY!

2pm Saturday, November 4

Fun for all ages—a visit from a special dinosaur, games, treats and books to take home!

 

TEEN ADVISORY GROUP (TAG) MEETING (Ages 12-18)

5:30 PM Monday, November 6

Teens meet regularly to help advise the library on what materials & programs might be of interest to teens. They also serve as library volunteers & plan & lead programs of their own. Ask Jen Schumann for more details!

 

TEEN DIY CLUB (12-18)

4:30 – 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 7 & 21

Stop by the Teen Activity Room anytime during this event to find cool DIY projects you can work on, from crafts to science to engineering to agriculture! We’ll be using the DIY.org site for inspiration, and teens can even earn badges as they level up in different skill areas!

 

ANIME & MANGA CLUB (ages 12 – 18)

5:00 p.m. Wednesday November 8 & 22

For teens-young adults who are interested in watching and discussing different anime series. We enjoy an activity, snacks and new episodes each week! No sign up required.

 

MAKER’S MONDAY (ages 10-16)

5:30 p.m. Monday, November 13 & 27

This hands-on program has a different theme each session, but always in a STEAM area (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). No sign up is required.

 

BOOK TO MOVIE CLUB: “Charlotte’s Web” (Ages 8-12)

4:00 pm Tuesday, November 14

Read the selected book, and then join us to watch the movie and discuss both. No sign up required– just check the calendar to see what we’re reading now.

 

MUSIC & LYRICS (ages 10-18)       ***

6 – 7 pm Wednesday, November 15 and Monday, November 20 Join us every other Saturday to help develop your singing and songwriting abilities! No prior experience is necessary, but pre-registration for this class is required. You can sign up at the children’s service desk.

 

TODDLER FREE PLAY (ages 1-4)

10:30 am Thursday, November 16

A drop-in group. Free play with age appropriate toys and a chance to meet new friends.

New and improving readers can choose any library book at their reading level, and read it aloud to one of the friendly pups from the Statesboro Therapy Dog group. No sign up required

 

KID’S CRAFT NIGHT (ages 6-11)

5:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 28

This is a chance for elementary and middle schools students to spend a little extra time being creative! No sign up is required; be prepared to get messy!
