Celebrating the magic between patty and bun

April 15, 2014

Let’s be real, y’all: A group just for hamburgers might as well be added to the food pyramid for college kids. Luckily, there’s no shortage of great restaurants in Statesboro that offer up that juicy, magical combination of a patty and bun. But Connect Statesboro wants to know: Who has the best burger in the Boro?
That's why, for the first time this year, Connect is hosting the Best Damn Burger in the Boro contest. Beefy bragging rights will be on the line when we pit local restaurants against each other in a cook-off to see who really serves up the most delicious burger in town. This could get downright dirty.
From now through Friday, April 18, Connect readers are invited to nominate and vote for their favorite local burger joints at connectstatesboro.com/bestdamnburgerintheboro. At the end of the voting period, the top five restaurants with the most online votes will be named People's Choice Award winners.
But wait — it gets better. After the People's Choice Award winners are announced on April 21, those five restaurants will be invited to attend a poolside cook-off party to be held Saturday, April 26, at The Forum. There, a panel of local judges will award their favorite burger with the Judge's Choice Award. The restaurant with the highest combination of  online votes and judges' scores will be declared the ultimate champion of the 2014 Best Damn Burger in the Boro competition.
So, let's review: Vote now, party later. Trust us, it's going to be fun.
