Attend Main Street Statesboro America’s Best Community, March Green Grits, for an evening of St. Patrick’s Day fun on Friday, March 4, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for green foods, green drinks and green treats.
Green Grits is a F1RST Friday event supporting family entertainment and strengthening community ties. See what the Statesboro community has to offer and experience a variety of vendors selling tasty foods and homemade crafts, a grits mill producing green grits sponsored by Freeman’s Mill, and St. Patrick Day games and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
This event will include the second annual Downtown Statesboro Paw-walk. Bring your dogs and dress them up in the most creative costumes for a chance to win. ENACTUS and Paws N Claws of Southern are the two organizations that will host and sponsor the dog costume contest. ENACTUS is a student-run organization that strives to help local businesses develop sustainable skills through entrepreneurship. Paws N Claws of Southern was created as a branch of ENACTUS to increase awareness about the Humane Society, as well as to grow the amount of volunteers. The fashion and merchandising program at Georgia Southern University is also making handcrafted bandanas for the dogs, and all proceeds go towards the Humane Society of Statesboro and Bulloch County.
This jam-packed night filled with a dog costume contest, grits mill exhibit, vendors, and family fun will make this year’s March Green Grits a memorable experience. For more information, contact Main Street Statesboro at 912-764-7227 or visit mainstreet@statesborodowntown.com.
