Let’s be real, y’all: A group just for hamburgers might as well be added to the food pyramid for college kids. Luckily, there’s no shortage of great restaurants in Statesboro that offer up that juicy, magical combination of a patty and bun. But Connect Statesboro wants to know: Who has the best burger in the Boro?
That's why, for the first time this year, Connect is hosting the Best Damn Burger in the Boro contest. Beefy bragging rights will be on the line when we pit local restaurants against each other in a cook-off to see who really serves up the most delicious burger in town. This could get downright dirty.
For the past two weeks, Connect readers have nominated and voted for their favorite local burger joints at connectstatesboro.com/bestdamnburgerintheboro, and the People's Choice Award winners — the five restaurants with the most online votes — include the following:

    1.Bigshow's Burgers
    2. Manny's Neighborhood Grille
    3. Steak 'n Shake
    4. Millhouse Steakhouse
    5. Uncle Shug's Chicken Barn

But wait — it gets better. Now, those five restaurants have been invited to attend a poolside grill-off with a live DJ on Saturday, April 26, at The Forum beginning at 1 p.m. There, a panel of local judges will award their favorite burger with the Judge's Choice Award. The restaurant with the highest combination of online votes and judges' scores will be declared the ultimate champion of the 2014 Best Damn Burger in the Boro competition.
We can't wait to see you Saturday at The Forum! Trust us, it's going to be fun.
