Have You Seen This? When a cat begs to get wet

November 13, 2018

THE SHOWER — Just like every group of living creatures, cats have stereotypes and reputations that follow them wherever they go.

Cats don’t feel love, cats are unsociable creatures, cats are shy and skittish, cats are curious, cats are lazy, cats aren’t as “good” as dogs, and cats hate, hate, hate water. Oil and water has nothing on cats and water, right?

But most people who interact with cats can tell you they’ve met many cats who buck some or all of these stereotypes, including the many cats who play fetch. Basically, each cat has its own personality and quirks to discover.

Today you’ll see that there are even cats that have no fear of water, and in fact, they love it. In the video, we meet an orange tabby. Its chirpy meows and intense body language certainly convey that kitty wants something, and it wants it real bad.

Turns out, what it wants is to play with streaming water in the shower. And it’s 49 seconds of pure delight and joy. I’m thinking this cat may even be a direct descendant of a tiger or a jaguar, two big cats who regularly spend time swimming.

This video may be a little old, but watching it feels fresh and new every time. You can see even more animals doing adorable, amazing, or heartwarming things at The Dodo.
