Children's programs at the library in August

ALL PROGRAMS TAKE PLACE AT THE Statesboro Bulloch County Public Library, 124 S. Main St.

 

Homeschool Book to Movie Club (ages 8 & up)

2:00 pm Thursday, August 2

 

TODDLER FREE PLAY (ages 1-5)

10:30 am Saturday, August 4, 11, 18, 25

At Toddler Free Play, we open the Children’s Activity Room for you to gather together, enjoy playtime with age-appropriate toys, and socialize with other families. Open to children ages 1-5 with their caregivers.

 

TEEN ADVISORY GROUP (TAG) MEETING (Ages 12-18)

5:30- 7:00 pm Monday, August 6

Teens meet monthly to advise the library on materials & programs. They also serve as library volunteers and lead programs of their own. Ask for a TAG registration form at the Children’s Desk!

 

52 WEEKS OF GIVING (all ages)

6 PM Tuesday, August 7 & 21

Give back to our community and make a difference in people’s lives! Stop by on the first and third Friday of the month to see what good deed we’re doing now. No sign up is required—you can join this program at any time!

 

Teen Anime Club (ages 12-18)

5:00 PM Wednesday, August 8 & 22

For teens who are interested in watching and discussing different anime series. We enjoy an activity, snacks and new episodes each session. New members are always welcome. Drop in anytime between 5:00-7:00 pm!

 

Teen DIY/Makerspace Open (ages 12-18)

Kids Storytime (ages 5-10)

FAMILY GAME NIGHT (all ages)

Families are encouraged to join us for a fun evening of cards, board games and video games. We have games for all age groups, from preschool through high school. No sign up required

SOCIAL MEDIA SAFETY FOR PARENTS

Learn the basics of social media and how to help your children and teens protect themselves on social media sites and apps. Presented by Dr. Lucas Jensen, from the Georgia Southern College of Education’s Instructional Technology Program.

READING TO ROVER (all ages)

New and improving readers can choose any library book at their reading level, and read it aloud to one of the friendly pups from the Statesboro Therapy Dog group. No sign up required.

Get help setting up your RBDigital account and access our library’s vast audiobook and ebook collection, which you can borrow and download right from your own home!

 

KIDS ANIME DAY (ages 6-10)

This program introduces kids to age-appropriate anime shows and movies, combined with a simple craft and light snacks. No sign up required and the program lasts for 1 hour.

 

Safe Haven Teen Talk (12-18)

6:00 pm Monday, August 27

Join knowledgeable and friendly staff from Safe Haven to discuss relationships and enjoy some snacks.

 

Kids Movie Day – “Sing” (ages 6-11)
