52 WEEKS OF GIVING - 4 PM Friday, June 1 & 15 Give back to our community and make a difference in people’s lives! Stop by on the first and third Friday of the month to see what good deed we’re doing now.  Join this program at any time!

 

KNITTING & CROCHETING CLUB - 10am Sat. June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 Bring your knitting needles, crochet hooks and yarn! Share projects and get new ideas! Every Saturday morning! New members welcome! 

Location: Adult Sitting Area

 

KINDNESS ROCKS– FAMILY PROGRAM - 2pm Saturday, June 2 Kindness Rocks! (all ages) Join us for a fun afternoon of rock painting, and then use those rocks to spread kindness all over town! We’ll be distributing these painted rocks all over Statesboro, so people can find them and return them to the library for a free book.

 

JOB ASSISTANCE with Monique Dennis: 6pm Tuesday, June 5 Finding a job is easier if you have help! Job Coach, Monique Dennis will help you get the skills you need to get the job you want.  The topic this session is Soft Skills.

INTRO to GENEALOGY- 2PM Thursday, June 7 and Monday June 25 Genealogy & Local History Coordinator, Lillian Wingate, will discuss ways to start your genealogy research.

Location: Children’s Activity Room

 

MEDITATION FOR STRESS RELIEF:  6PM Thursday, June 7 Local Neurologist, Dr. Kashyap Patel MD, returns to help us learn about ways that meditation can help us manage stress in our everyday lives.

BASIC COMPUTERS: Learning About GOOGLE & FILES 11am Sat. 6/30 Basic computer skills for patrons who are unfamiliar with the computer. Instructed by Statesboro Library Technology Coordinator, Jasmine Cleveland.

FAMILY GAME NIGHT (all ages) 6 pm Monday, June 11 Families are encouraged to join us for a fun evening of cards, board games and video games. We have games for all age groups, from preschool through high school. No sign up required

 

AFRICAN AMERICAN GENEALOGY– 6 pm Tuesday, June 12 Lillian Wingate, Genealogy and Local History Coordinator, will review several Genealogy websites and sources to aid in your research.

ANIME CLUB (ages 12 – 18) 5 pm Wednesday, June 13 & 27 For teens and young adults interested in watching and discussing different anime series. Enjoy an activity, snacks and new episodes each week!

ESSENTIAL OILS/Make & Take: Produce Spray - 6 pm Wed., June 13 Make a spray with natural ingredients to wash the impurities from all your summer fruits & veggies. Bring a small bottle.

JUNETEENTH ROUNTABLE DISCUSSION - 4pm Tuesday, June 19 Join Mayor Jonathan McCollar, Statesboro Middle School Principal, Dr. Torian White, Ogeechee Tech Dean, Samantha Smith and Moderator, Monique Dennis in a community based discussion of enlightenment and remembrance.

Genealogy: ANCESTRY.COM - 6 pm Thursday, June 21 Genealogy and Local History Coordinator, Lillian Wingate will review how to use the Ancestry.com website in its updated format and will show the difference between the Library version and the paid subscription.

HOW TO: RB DIGITAL - 11 am Friday, June 22 Learn how to use RB digital to access audiobooks, magazines & eBooks with your library card & the RBdigital mobile app for iOS, Android and Kindle.

HOW TO: POLY CLAY FLOWER DISH - 2 pm Saturday, June 23 Make a decorative sculptured dish with colorful polymer clay that you’ll take home and bake when completed.

Genealogy: COMPARING DNA TOOLS   6 pm Tuesday, June, 26

Genealogy and Local History Coordinator, Lillian Wingate will compare and discuss the differences between AncestryDNA and 23andMe.

Great American Read - BOOK GROUP   6 pm Thursday, June 28

Choose from the list of 100 favorite American books and read along with the group as we vote for the favorite great American novel.
