Free Read Book Club– Thursday, June 1st at 6:30PM Looking for your next read? Know of any good books that others may be interested in? This is the book club for you! New members are always welcome!

COMPUTER BASICS: Word– Friday, June 2nd, 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT Coordinator will show patrons how to create a document using Microsoft Word.

Game Night: Monopoly– Tuesday, June 6th, 5PM Test your skills! Try your luck! Enjoy a friendly round of Monopoly!

Location: TEEN LOFT

 

Genealogy Organization– Thursday, June 8th & 29th, 6PM Lillian Wingate, Statesboro Library’s Genealogy and Local History Coordinator will demonstrate step by step how to organize a family research project. Basic supplies needed. ***Please bring a 3”ring binder, 5 tabbed dividers, clear sleeves that go into the binder, and assorted writing implements. Sign up in the Genealogy Department.

JOB READINESS: Networking– Tuesday, June 13th, 6PM Searching for employment is a daunting task for jobseekers who often do not have the knowledge, skills and abilities to navigate the seemingly complex terrain. This week we’ll be learning the importance of networking, and how to sell yourself. Get the support you need with this free ongoing series, instructed by business woman, Monique Dennis.

COMPUTER BASICS: PowerPoint– Friday, June 16th, 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT Coordinator will demonstrate to patrons the proper way to use Power Point and create slideshows. Location: COMPUTER LAB

 

DIY Wind Chimes– Saturday, June 17th, 2PM Join us in making your own personal wind chime with step-by-step instructions!

African American Genealogy– Monday, June 19th, 2PM Lillian Wingate, Genealogy and Local History Coordinator, will go over several Genealogy website and sources to aid in your African American family history. She will also give a brief history of African American in Bulloch county.

Roundtable Discussion: Juneteenth– Monday, June 19th, 4PM Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Join us in a round table discussion with black influential leaders of the Statesboro community as we discuss the history and future progression of black education and culture.

Adult Cooking Series- Monday, June 19th, 6PM Renowned chef, Patrick White will give a live demonstration, tasting, and a chance to learn some valuable cooking tips!

Asian Drama Fan Club– Tuesday, June 20th, 6PM Members will watch and discuss various first episodes of Asian drama. Come commune with those who share interest in Asian culture! Hosted by librarian, Marion Kuehne. Ages 15 and up!

A fitness guide for patrons! Learn new and assorted ways to get moving and stay motivated in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
