Computer Basics: Beginners-Friday, May 5th at 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT Coordinator will show patrons who are unfamiliar with the computer how to use the internet, mouse, keyboard and much more!

DIY Bead Jewelry –Saturday, May 6th at 2PM Join us in making your own personal accessory with step-by-step instructions!

Job Readiness: Cover Letters-Tuesday, May 9th at 6PM Searching for employment is a daunting task for jobseekers who often do not have the knowledge, skills and abilities to navigate the seemingly complex terrain. This week we’ll be learning the importance of, and how to create effective cover letters. Get the support you need with this free ongoing series, instructed by business woman, Monique Dennis.

Beautiful Bees-Thursday, May 11 at 2PM

Mark & Ruth Mettler, owners of Beeutiful Bees will host a beekeeping workshop and will also discuss the importance of preserving an endangered species.

Heritage Quest– Thursday, May 11th at 6PM Lillian Wingate, Genealogy and Local History Coordinator of Statesboro Library will show patrons the features and benefits of Heritage Quest over Ancestry.com.  Adults only.

Free Read Book Club– Thursday, May 11th at 6:30PM Looking for your next read? Know of any good books that others may be interested in? This is the book club for you! New members are always welcome!

Computer Basics: How to Use Google -Friday, May 12th at 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT Coordinator will show patrons the way to get their questions answered on Google, settings, extensions and more.

Location: COMPUTER LAB

 

Credit Building Seminar-Saturday, May 13th 12-2PM Certified CPA consultant, Jennifer Taylor will demonstrate the “do’s and don’ts” of credit and give valuable tips on credit building. Patrons will have the opportunity to enroll in a credit restoration program.

Knitting and Crocheting Club– Saturday, May 13th and 27th and 2PM Bring your knitting needles, crochet hooks and yarn! Share projects and get some new ideas! New members are always welcome!

Adult Cooking Series: “Date Night Edition”– Monday, May 15th at 6PM Join Chef Patrick White as he demonstrates how to make a delightful salmon dish with carrot puree, herbed jasmine rice, and sautéed asparagus with white wine butter sauce. The perfect recipe for a superb at-home date night!

Asian Drama Fan Club– Tuesday, May 16th at 6PM Members watch and discuss various first episodes of Asian drama. Come commune with those who share an interest in Asian culture! Hosted by librarian, Marion Keuhne. Ages 15 and up.

HOW TO: Ancestry.com – Tuesday, May 16 at 6PM Genealogy and Local History Coordinator, Lillian Wingate will review how to use the ancestry.com website in its updated format and will show the difference between the Library version and the paid subscription. Sign up to reserve your space.

Game Night: Spades– Thursday, May 18th at 5PM Test your skills! Try your luck! Enjoy a friendly round of Spades.

Computer Basics: Creating an Email -Friday, May 19th at 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT Coordinator will show patrons how to create an email, upload attachments, adjust settings and much more!

Family Fun Day (with Mango Languages): Spanish- Saturday, May 20th at 2PM Join us in yet another Family Fun Day! This month we will learn about the Spanish language and culture!

This week we’ll go through mock interviews for job seekers hoping to ace the interview process. Get the support you need with this free ongoing series, instructed by business woman, Monique Dennis.

Family Search– Thursday, May 25th at 6PM Lillian Wingate, Genealogy and Local History Coordinator will demonstrate how to navigate FamilySearch.org, a free website which enables you to build your family tree on, search for sources, and save information.

Computer Basics: Uploading (resume/ pictures) -Friday, May 26th at 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT Coordinator will show patrons how to upload resumes, pictures and other files to the internet! Location: UPSTAIRS COMPUTER LAB

 

Fitness Fridays: Bollywood Dance -Friday, May 26th at 2PM A fitness guide for patrons! Learn new and assorted ways to get moving and stay motivated in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
