DIY MARBLE GLASS VOTIVE- Tuesday, April 4th at 6PM Join us in making a must-have home décor item, marbled glass votive with step-by-step instructions. Supplies limited to those who sign up however feel free to bring your own votive, coffee mug, ceramic cup, etc.  Sign up required.

Location: COMMUNITY ROOM

 

GENEALOGY WORKSHOP: FAMILY SEARCH– Tuesday, April 4th at 6PM Lillian Wingate, Genealogy and Local History Coordinator will demonstrate how to navigate FamilySearch.org, a free website that lets you build your family tree, search for sources, and save information

FREE READ BOOK CLUB– Thursday, April 6th at 6:30PM Looking for your next great read? Know of any good books that others may be interested in? This is the book club for you! New members are welcome!

Location: Community Room

 

COMPUTER BASICS: Excel (Creating a Budget) - Friday, April 7th at 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT coordinator will demonstrate how to create a simple budget using Microsoft Excel.

KNITTING& CROCHETING CLUB– Saturday, April 8th and 22nd at 2PM Bring your knitting needles and yarn, share projects and get some new ideas!

Location: Children’s Activity Room

 

SIP & SKETCH: Drawing– Saturday, April 8th at 2PM Relax and enjoy some special refreshments while sketching your own gorgeous work of art. Patrons will be taught the basics of drawing. Limited to adults.

JOB READINESS: Why Should I Hire You? - Tuesday, April 11th at 6PM Searching for employment is a daunting task for jobseekers who often do not have the knowledge, skills and abilities to navigate the seemingly complex terrain consisting of resumes, cover letters, and application forms, or the ability to interview effectively.  Activities in this Employment Readiness program have been designed to be highly interactive, giving opportunities for patrons to learn through case studies, role play, individual and group study. Partake in this free ongoing series, instructed by business woman, Monique Dennis.

Location: COMMUNITY ROOM

 

GAME DAY: Scrabble– Thursday, April 13th at 6PM Try your luck! Enjoy a friendly round of Scrabble. Winner gets a special prize!

Location: UPSTAIRS TEEN AREA

 

COMPUTER BASICS: Power Point– Friday, April 14th at 2PM Belinda Dickey, IT Coordinator will demonstrate to patrons the proper way to use Power Point and create slideshows.

Location: Upstairs Computer Lab

 

OPEN HOUSE FOR FAMILIES OF SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN– Friday, April 14th from 6-8PM An after-hours event to acquaint families and children with library services.  Please call Cindy @ 912-764-1344 with any questions.

DISCOVER GALILEO– Saturday, April 15th at 2PM Did you know the Statesboro Library provides credible online search engines free of charge? Come learn all that the library provides just by having your library card!

ASIAN DRAMA FAN CLUB– Tuesday, April 18th at 6PM Members watch and discuss various first episodes of Asian drama. Come commune with those who share an interest in Asian culture! Hosted by librarian, Marion Keuhne. Ages 15 and up.

DIY: Floral Monogram Letters – Thursday, April 20th at 5PM Join us in making your own personal monogrammed hanging letter! Step-by-step instruction will be provided. Ages 15 and up. Sign up required.

ADULTING 101: Time Management– Friday, April 21st at 5PM Do you ever feel as if there aren’t enough hours in the day?! Could be that you need some assistance in managing your time. Come learn how to schedule yourself to meet all your needs day-to-day!

In this program, you will learn about different Genealogy related websites that can aid in your research. Some may require a registration, but all are free! Hosted by Genealogy Coordinator, Lillian Wingate.

FITNESS FRIDAYS: Chair Yoga– Friday, April 28th at 3PM Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. Yoga helps with breath control and relaxation. Join instructor, Morgan Gose, for the ultimate relaxation!

ALTERED BOOK WORKSHOP: Book Safe– Saturday, April 29th at 2PM Turn an ordinary old book into a personal safe for all your secret belongings. Ages 15 and up. Sign up required.
