TODDLER TIME (ages 2-4)

10:30 a.m. Wednesdays

March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Toddler Time is designed for parents and young children, with a focus on stories, song, and movement. After story time and songs, we normally have an easy craft for the toddlers to work on (with parent help). No sign up is required—you can join this program at any time!

 

BOARD GAME CLUB (Ages 12-18)

5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1

Try out some of our new, more complex and interesting board games! We’ll have staff on hand to help you understand the rules and get the fun started. No sign up needed

This program has a different theme each week, but all of the themes are centered around giving back to our community and making a difference in people’s lives. The full schedule is available in the brochure. No sign up is required—you can join this program at any time!

 

VIDEO GAME CLUB (Ages 8-12)

1:00 – 3:00 pm Saturday, March 4

We have two days of video games planned this month—each for different age groups. Drop in and play with your friends, or make some new ones while you’re here!

 

TEEN ADVISORY GROUP (TAG) MEETING (12-18)

BOOK TO MOVIE CLUB: THE BORROWERS (Ages 8-12)

Read the selected book, and then join us to watch the movie and discuss both. No sign up required– just check the calendar to see what we’re reading now.

 

ANIME & MANGA CLUB (ages 12 – 18)

5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 & 22

For teens who are interested in watching and discussing different anime series. We enjoy an activity, snacks and new episodes each week! No sign up required.

 

HOMESCHOOL ART DAY

2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9

A chance for homeschool students to participate in large-group learning activities at the library. Homeschooled students only. No signup required.

 

SPECIAL NEEDS SENSORY STORYTIME

6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, March 10

An after-hours event to acquaint families and children with library services and enjoy a special Sensory Storytime.  Please call Cindy @ 912-764-1344 with any questions.

 

FAMILY FUNDAY: MANGO – IRISH

2:00 PM Saturday, March 11

One Saturday each month, we host a family fun day where we enjoy some tasty treats and learn a new language with the library’s Mango software!

 

PENNY SOCIAL RAFFLE (all ages)

4:00 – 7:00 pm Saturday, March 11 (drawings at 6:00 sharp!) A cross between an auction and a raffle, this fun event shouldn’t be missed! Tickets are 5 cents each—buy as many as you want to try to win your favorite prize! All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library.

 

MAKER’S MONDAY (ages 10-16)

5:30 p.m. Monday, March 13 & 27

This hands-on program has a different theme each session, but always in a STEAM area (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). No sign up is required. Check the flyers around the library to see what topics and activities are being offered this month!

 

KIDS GENEALOGY- IRISH FOLKLORE (ages 8-14)

5:30 PM Tuesday, March 14

Our local history coordinator conducts workshops and activities on a wide range of genealogy and history topics for kids. Join us anytime!

 

KID’S ART NIGHT (ages 8-12)

5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15

This is a chance for elementary and middle schools students to spend a little extra time being creative! No sign up is required; be prepared to get messy!

 

KIDS AFTERSCHOOL CLUB (ages 6-10)

4:00 pm Thursday, March 16

A fun chance to hang out with our staff and some Teen Advisory Group members, as they lead cool afterschool games, crafts & activities!

 

LEGO CLUB (ages 5-12)

2:00 PM Saturday, March 18

Join us for some fun free-building time with our massive LEGO collection. No sign up is required—join anytime!

 

READING TO ROVER (new and developing readers)

5:00 P.M. Monday, March 20

New and improving readers can choose any library book at their reading level, and read it aloud to one of the friendly pups from the Statesboro Therapy Dog group. No sign up required.

 

ROSIE REVERE ENGINEER (ages 7-12) - presented by the Girl Scouts!

5:30 P.M. Monday, March 20

Do you like to imagine, experiment, and make amazing things? Join us for a reading of the bestselling picture book Rosie Revere, Engineer and to try your hand at making a Rosie-Copter fly. You may just discover you are an engineer in the making!

 

CrAzy 8 MATH CLUB (grades K – 2)

4:30 PM Tuesday, March 21

Our Crazy 8 Math Clubs have a different theme each month, with exciting, hands-on activities that are designed to help build math skills. There are 2 clubs for different grade levels, and they meet on different days. Sign-up is required for this Club—just ask at the Children’s Department Desk.

 

ASIAN DRAMA FAN CLUB (Ages 15-18)

6:00 PM Tuesday, March 21

For all the lovers of Asian Drama! We’ll watch one in a new series at each meeting, then on our own before discussing it the following month. Join anytime! Hosted by librarian, Marion Kuehne.

This program teaches teens some basic kitchen, cooking and baking skills. Each class has a theme, and students do it all—peeling, chopping, boiling, sautéing, baking, and even cleaning! No sign up is required, but be on time. Check the flyers around the library to see what we’re making this month!
