Being “Green” is in.
Eco-Friendly products and practices are the biggest trend right now in everything from fashion to building.
The Wellness Program and CRI are making a big effort to keep this fad going at Georgia Southern.
Ed Begley Jr. – actor and living green activist – will be speaking at the Performing Arts Center on Monday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m.
He will talking about his own efforts to live green since 1970 and educating students on how they can be more green.
“Living with Ed” is currently one of Ed Begley’s two hit TV shows on right now.
“Living with Ed”, on the Planet Green channel, is a show where he demonstrates how he lives simply to educate others to do the same.
He is also starring in “Gary Unmarried” on CBS. Attending Ed Begley’s “Live Simply so that others can Simply Live” talk is one way to get excited about living a more environmentally friendly.
Carpooling, using public transportation, riding bikes or walking, using reusable drinking containers and shopping bags, take shorter showers, and being an advocate to educate others are just a few ways to ensure a better earth for future generations.
“Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, and Respect. Respect often gets left out but it is the most important re-,” said Nigel Davies, wellness director at CRI. “Respect our planet and the rest will follow. There is no Planet B.”
The Wellness Program at CRI also has a few programs to encourage students.
Southern Adventures will trade students a bike for the day for their car keys on Wellness Wednesdays.
