Most girls dream about their wedding days. However, when it comes to actually planning their weddings, it’s often far more stressful and expensive than they imagined. Deciding on floral arrangements, the cake, dresses, decorations, venues and caterers all can weigh heavily on a bride’s shoulders — not to mention figuring out how to pay for it all.
That’s where the annual Downtown Statesboro Wedding Walk expo and fashion show comes in, which showcases the best the area has to offer, from wedding gowns and flowers to catering and venues. It is the ideal starting point for any bride in the area who is ready to start planning her big day.
The event kicks off with a bridal expo in the ballroom of First Baptist Church Statesboro (108 North Main Street) at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21. Here, local area businesses will set up booths to provide information and answer any questions you may have about the services they offer. Over 50 vendors are participating in this year's event, including photographers, caterers, florists, hair and makeup stylists, wedding cake designers, fashion experts, travel agents, limousine companies, DJs and wedding planners.
New this year is a featured grooms' lounge, where male attendees are invited to kick up their feet while enjoying snacks and watching TV.
Then comes the main event. The fashion show will begin at 8:30 p.m., where local dress and tux shops and florists will team up to show you what’s hot this wedding season.
Throughout the evening, over $1,500 in door prizes will be given away — including some giveaways just for the men!
Tickets to the 2013 Statesboro Wedding Walk are $5 and will be available for purchase at the door the evening of the event. For more information, contact Main Street Statesboro at 912.764.7227.
