Georgia Southern's Homecoming Week a superhero celebration

 WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7

•  Picture Yourself as a Superhero! (Russell Union Rotunda, 11 a.m.–
2 p.m.)
    Students will be able to take green-screen photos using superhero props, play games and construct their own "superhero super dog" hot dogs. Free for all students. Bring your Eagle ID.

•  Doo-Dah step/dance competition
 (Hanner Fieldhouse, 7 p.m.)
    This is a dance show like no other! Student organizations will compete in different categories including step, "Doo Dah" and dance for spirit points and prizes.


 THURSDAY, NOV. 8

•  Soarin' at the Rotunda (Russell Union Rotunda, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.)
    Student organizations can set up tailgates and enjoy games, music and a "Biggest Fan on Campus" competition.

•  Superhero Trivia (Russell Union Commons, 7 p.m.)
    Students can test their superhero knowledge for a chance to win prizes. Free for all students. Bring your Eagle ID.

FRIDAY, NOV. 9

•  Homecoming Parade (from Paulson Stadium to Sweetheart Circle, 4 p.m.)
    Student organizations, campus departments and members of the community will enter parade floats, Krazy Kars and characters in a spirit-filled parade starting from Paulson Stadium and ending at Sweetheart Circle.

•  A Superhero Celebration (Sweetheart Circle, 6:30 p.m.)
    Following the parade, a celebration with games, activities and food will serve as the backdrop to the announcement of the 2012 Homecoming Court, crowning of the Duke and Duchess, and the winners of this year's spirit-point competition!

•  Alumni Family and Friends BBQ (Bishop Alumni Center, 6 p.m.)
    Bus transportation will be available to and from Springhill Suites.

•  “The Dark Knight Rises" Outdoor Movie (Sweetheart Circle, 8:30 p.m.)
    End the day at a free outdoor movie that celebrates one of the most popular superheroes of our time! Free for all students. Bring your Eagle ID.

 SATURDAY, NOV. 10

•  True Blue 5k (RAC, 7:30 a.m.)
    Students and community members can stay active when they participate in this year's True Blue 5k, all while sporting their GSU colors and apparel!

•  Adrian Peterson book signing (The University Store, 9 a.m.–noon)
    Legendary Georgia Southern running back Adrian Peterson returns to campus this Saturday to sign copies of his autobiography, “Don’t Dis My Abilities.” You can meet the record-breaking Eagle and purchase an autographed copy of his book before GSU faces Howard in the 2012 homecoming game.

•  Homecoming football game: GSU vs. Howard (Paulson Stadium, 2 p.m.)
    During halftime, two students, nominated by their organizations and voted for by their peers, will be crowned the 2012 Homecoming King and Queen.

•  GSU Stomp Fest 2012 (GSU's Performing Arts Center, 7–10 p.m.)
