Halo Reach (Xbox 360) release date: Sept. 14 — We've talked about this one before. Reach will be an experience unlike previous Halo titles. Now with 100% more jetpacks, an advanced level editor, and an experience system that collects data from any part of the game including single player you can't go wrong with this one.
Call of Duty: Black Ops (Xbox 360, PS3) release date: Nov. 9 — The Treyarch-developed follow-up to Modern Warfare 2, the best selling Xbox 360 game of all time should be quite a sight to behold. Black Ops is going to be set in 1968 during the Cold War, which should help change up things from WWII and the modern era.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep (PSP) release date: Sept. 7 — Birth By Sleep is a prequel to the original Kingdom Hearts. You can choose from three main characters with different abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. The card-based system from Chain of Memories is out, in favor of a new command system that is much more intuitive.
Mortal Kombat (Xbox 360, PS3) release date: First or second quarter 2011 — Last week we did a preview for this bad boy, and we already have some news for you. Mortal Kombat is following in Street Fighter's footsteps and going with 3D models fighting on a 2D plane for a more traditional experience. Also, it will have a tag mode similar to the Capcom Vs. series, so now 4 player Kombat is definitely a possibility.
Metroid: Other M (Wii) release date: Aug. 31 — M takes place after the Super Metroid that came out for the SNES, and will delve into Samus' history more in-depth than previous titles. The game is being developed by Team Ninja for Nintendo, so it'll be a very in-your-face, action-oriented experience that can't be missed!
Star Wars:  Force Unleashed II (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP) release date: Oct. 26 — Do evil once again this October in the follow-up to the smash hit of 2008. Your Force powers have been upgraded in this installment to incredible levels, so now you can really destroy that environment in style. I'm not going to spoil anything from the original, but somehow Starkiller is back.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (Xbox 360, PS3) release date: Late 2010 — This is Hideo Kojima's first Castlevania game, and he's rebooting the entire saga. Normally this would be a little scary for an established series, but the guy made Metal Gear, for God's sake, so we'll cut him some slack. The basic story concept from Lament of Innocence for the PS2 is being used, and it'll be more along the lines of a hack-and-slash with heavy RPG elements.
Fallout New Vegas (Xbox 360, PS3) release date: Oct. 19 — While it may be obvious, the setting for the new Fallout is Las Vegas in the far-flung future. The gameplay will be very much like Fallout 3, but the story won't be related to it in any way, since it's set on the other side of North America.
Little Big Planet 2  (PS3) release date: Nov. 16 —  Sackboy is back! Now you'll be able to get even crazier with your in-game creations. First-person shooters, top-down shooters, RPGs... the sky's the limit at this point. This will be the must-have PS3 game this year.
Bioshock Infinite (Xbox 360, PS3) release date: 2012 — Leave the oceans and hit the skies. No longer will you be underwater but floating in a sky city. There aren't a lot of details yet, since it was just announced with a teaser trailer.
Fable III (Xbox 360) release date: Oct. 26 — This Halloween, get ready for the Fable experience once again. The game is set more than 50 years after Fable II, and Albion is under the rule of an evil tyrant. Unfortunately, the tyrant is your brother. To avoid any spoilers I'm going to leave the plot out of this preview, but believe me, it's going to be awesome.
