ALL LICKERED UP — A man at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, apparently under sheriff’s department custody, was reportedly belligerent and disruptive, grabbing a man by the neck in an attempt to choke him and licking a woman in an “insulting manner,” reports stated. OK. Being licked in any manner by a belligerent stranger under law enforcement custody would be insulting.
MORE THIEVIN’ — Lock your doors, use a deadbolt, and an alarm would be a good idea. People are still kicking in doors and taking the good stuff, like they did at a Copper Beech apartment this week: several lap top computers, a TV, cash and video games were stolen. It’s also a good idea to record serial numbers of your electronics and valuables.
OOPS — A man trying to fight at the Fast and Easy at University Plaza missed his swing and hit a glass door, which cracked. When cops arrived, the dude was just a little combative and belligerent, so they locked him up on several charges – including public intoxication.
PLUM CRAZY – A man at Brucie’s Restaurant on (U.S. 301 South called Bulloch County Sheriff’s deputies to report someone picked plums from a tree and threw them at the restaurant. What? Did the plums stain the building? Were they special plums that were to be made into jam?
MAD MAN – A Stuckey Lane woman told police a man grabbed a broomstick and threatened her during an argument over bicycle helmets. Then he choked her before fleeing, she said.
SQUATTER? — A man discovered someone was living in his storage shed on Proctor Street. He called police to report it. Statesboro has no homeless shelter, but if the owner did not want someone living in his shed, a simple lock would prevent this from happening again.
