Georgia Southern Athletics, Harvey’s and Kappa Alpha Order are coming together to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) on Feb. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lend your hand to the effort by purchasing a plate of food at J.I. Clements Stadium’s lower parking lot.
“We have been raising funds for MDA around this time of year for a couple of years now, and when we had the opportunity to partner with the Kappa Alpha Order and Georgia Southern Athletics to expand our efforts it was too good to pass up,” said John Goodman of Harvey’s.
For your $5 you’ll get chicken quarters, baked beans, corn and a roll. The proceeds from this benefit tailgate go to MDA.
“We are really excited to partner with Harvey's and Georgia Southern Athletics to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association,” said Clint Carter of the Kappa Alpha Order. “This is a very important cause for our organization both for our chapter and nationally.”
MDA combats neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research programs, comprehensive medical and community services and professional and public health education. It is the leading supporter of neuromuscular diseases, and its scientists are not only leading the way in gene therapy research but have uncovered the genetic defects responsible for several forms of muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions.
