Make way, Statesboro. The one-man band has returned (and he's a father now, too).
With his guitar and pedal-pushing style in tow, Zach Deputy will be at Buffalo’s on June 18 fresh off of an appearance at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn. He’s more than just the one-man band. Forget about sexy, Deputy is bringing funky back.
Connect Statesboro once wrote: “Deputy has been the sole conductor on the funk train… he strums his Stratocaster and classical nylon Godin and throws his voice around to create a dazzling mixture of art and entertainment.” That statement rings true today.
Deputy’s roots are centered around the Statesboro area, and it’s always been like a home for him.
It’s not just Connect and Statesboro that likes Deputy’s style.
Jim Noll of Kentucky’s Main Stream Live admits that he hasn’t “ever seen a non-local band develop this quickly.”
Deputy is followed around by his devoted Deputies – they claim to be in the billions on MySpace – and continuously wows every crowd put in front of him.
It’s something you wouldn’t expect from the guy who was kicked out of his school’s choir because he was shy.
Whatever made him overcome his fears has helped him develop into a show that has captivated audiences all over.
And the originality doesn’t stop there.
They’re called Ziggy D’s MP3s. When fans bring in a 2 gigabite flash drive and pay $5, Deputy will upload the entire show onto the drive.
Upload them to your iTunes and jam out long after the show.
Also, at every show, Deputy fans can show up 15 minutes in advance to order a copy of the entire show you are attending. Called Deputy Discs, the cost $10 for one disc, $15 for two discs and $20 for four discs. The show at Buffalo's starts at 8 p.m.
