Join us on Friday, August 3 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. for the fifth annual F1RST Friday Downtown Pep Rally, sponsored by the City of Statesboro and Statesboro Natural Gas. Football players, cheerleaders, band members and mascots from Bulloch Academy, Southeast Bulloch, Portal and Statesboro High School will all be showing off their school spirit on the Courthouse lawn!
Statesboro Natural Gas will be providing hotdogs for the students participating. Drinks will also be sold by the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority. Vendors such as, The Clubhouse, Panera Bread and local artisans will be joining the teams on the Courthouse lawn. A preview of "Dancing with the Statesboro Stars,” a fundraiser benefiting Safe Haven, will also be filling the air with songs and dancing. Downtown Statesboro is where everyone needs to be this Friday to kick off the 2012-2013 school year!
“The pep rally is has really become a great way to show off our local schools,” said Allen Muldrew, Executive Director of the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.
Afterwards, cool off in the Emma Kelly Theater for a showing of the 1989 Hugo Bowl Game staring the Georgia Southern Eagles at 6:30!
All ages are invited to come Downtown and show their support for their favorite school. This is a great opportunity for students and parents alike to come and support our downtown!
